HPC in Bavaria – Where Innovation Meets Excellence.
Join us at SC25 as we showcase the power of Bavarian high-performance computing – where groundbreaking research, advanced technology, and visionary collaboration drive the future of science.
Discover how we’re shaping the next generation of supercomputing together with our partners, the Technical University of Munich (TUM), Munich Quantum Valley (MQV), and NHR@FAU. From quantum innovation to AI acceleration and sustainable HPC solutions, experience how Bavaria is turning ideas into impact – and bits into brilliance togehter with technology partners like Q.ANT or IQM.
There are high hopes for photonic computing, particularly in the context of artificial intelligence (AI) applications. Photonic systems, such as those installed at the LRZ by Q.ANT, reduce the energy requirements for computer vision considerable. The start-up from Stuttgart will be presenting its technology at #SC25.
With the help of HPC, research results can become a feast for the eyes: At #SC25 Art + HPC, Elisabeth Mayer from the Centre for Virtual Reality & Visualisation at the LRZ will present her work "Within the Marble", which shows millions of years of Earth's history in fast motion and illustrates geophysical data using cinematic techniques.
In a groundbreaking simulation, a research team demonstrates how energy changes within interstellar turbulence (picture: J. Beattie/Princeton University). This shifts our understanding of galaxy formation and reveals the spread of cosmic radiation and magnetic fields. The simulation was computed and visualised at the LRZ.
